HUDSON COMMUNITY FARM
Re-activating municipal agricultural land: connecting with heritage, building resilience.
Local, Ecological,
|
A community farm where young farmers will grow a diversified selection of vegetables, fruits, flowers, and herbs as well as raise poultry for the community. Ecological practices will be used to enhance food sovereignty, while offering educational and community building opportunities.
We feel that such a project has the potential to respond to multiple needs in the community namely: local ecological agriculture/micro farming, access to locally grown quality produce, community integration, education, farmer succession, land stewardship, agricultural heritage preservation, economic development, eco-tourism, innovative solutions, community food security, and celebration of cultural assets and heritage.
